       I know a computer controlled automatic transmission is more efficient in important ways, but man it's fun to run gears and blow by some bozo who hasn't mastered merging.

       @ricciIn an engineering sense. A properly chipped automatic will get me past the impediment, too.  But running the gears myself is more satisfying.

       @snorerot13 I have not driven a car with a geared transmission for like 8 years now and am very happy with this state of affairs (my EV is direct drive, spouse's car has CVT)

       @ricci @snorerot13 our EV is "single speed automatic," but I'd rather _drive_ the six speed in my Jeep.  Slowly, with spilled coffee, but more joy.
