       “Materialists” was not at all the movie I was expecting from the trailers. I thought I would get a somewhat cynical rom-com about a matchmaker who can solve everyone’s love life but her own. I got…well, that, technically, but I also got a big punch right in my face, in a storyline that wasn’t even hinted at in the trailers. Do I recommend it? I don’t know. It was a very good movie, well-made and well-acted (Dakota Johnson in particular was great) but it’ll also punch you very hard in the face.
