the unique challenge of nigpig is that his hair is too sparse and the fur + underlying skin need to be significantly different colors. You'd basically have to change each hair individually.

@RustyCrab the true nigpig would be a testament to SOVL and CARE put into it

@RustyCrab i still say selective color shifting/blending is the best way

@vinnegan @RustyCrab is it possible to select a part of the image based on color and apply a shift based on that? For example select the color of the hair and shift everything matches to a dark brown.

@gray @RustyCrab yes that's what I was attempting to describe. For example (using a mix of different blending layer styles, mostly multiply):

@vinnegan @gray that is interesting. I'll have to look into how to do that in krita

@gray @RustyCrab idk if it exists in krita at base, I had to install a plugin to get it to work in paint.net. I assume that it exists in something like photopea or gimp.

@vinnegan @RustyCrab I’ve been using Pixelmator on my Mac for editing. I’d have to see if it’s capable.

@gray @vinnegan I actually don't mind paying for software but I would like to avoid anything adobe. They're so abusive to customers that the government is actually stepping in.

@RustyCrab @vinnegan I’m sure something like Affinity has the capability. I just had a hard time justifying the time spent to learn it for doing things like this.

@vinnegan @gray I've worked with shaders and pixel math a lot in the past and honestly I feel like I should probably try to make a plugin for krita or something sometimes. I feel like a lot of the 'advanced techniques' you learn in photo editors are just copes for not having access to basic math.
