@Nonilex ...couple things. Trump would never honor a commitment he couldn't gain money or prestige from. NATO really needs to fill the US absence on their own. NATO needs to expel Hungary. As long as Putin runs Russia, Europe is a huge risk. EU needs it own defense force. I know...easy to say, not to do.....

@Nonilex ....sorry, the message is totally clear...if left up to TACO, he will not honor America's commitment under A 5. Hard to see unless, and he's the point, there is a huge payoff to him personally, and a big boost for his ego would also help. Otherwise....crickets.

@Nonilex In some ways, I would be glad to see the USA out of these defence alliances. The USA has a long modern history of self-serving that has not been in the best interests of its so-called allies. Let Europe make its own plans for security - otherwise they will simply be in the middle of a proxy war between the USA and Russia.

@Nonilex freeloader. When America was attacked on 9/11, the Europeans joined them against Afghanistan and have not even been informed about US withdrawal, leading to chaotic situations for them.Now Europe is in danger of being attacked, even spends more money on military (though you cannot solve problems just by throwing money at it, but alas) and Taco Tinyhands does what he always does: chicken out.
