The biggest problem with this proposal is that the author is trying to overstep the mark, you don't get to introduce XLibre into the repos and also replace Xorg all in 1 proposal without a really good reason to do so, that's the biggest reason this is going to fail. There is a discussion to be had about whether you want to include it in the repos, but that has to be the first step.https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/f43-change-proposal-x11libre-system-wide/156330

@BrodieOnLinux my problem with this (besides the obvious political problems) is that the project has barely been around for a week or two, there’s no proof of its technical merits, besides a hope that it’ll become something. We do not put out change proposals to replace a staple of a Linux desktop with something that has been around for a few weeks with no proof of it being better, or more stable, or well tested. It’s all complete hogwash in my personal view

@ryanabx For sure, at least give it a Fedora cycle before trying to make a jump like this

@BrodieOnLinux At least the idiots are fun to watch! There are people who seem to truly believe IBM killed X11 for some sort of conspiracy and completely ignore that the people who build X11 are the same who decided it's no longer maintainable for the future and started Wayland! I wonder if these idiots would be happier if they just named it X12 or something, they definitely would be stupid enough for a trick like that! 😂
