       We think we have a small tragedy here. There's a female putangitangi (paradise shell duck) standing alone on our grapevine post. She's been there since early morning calling. They always have a mate nearby, but there's no sign of him.She sounds pretty sad.

       She's back again this morning. Still calling but a bit less vocal. She flew off mid morning yesterday.
