       My poor kitty Lola. She still poops on the floor, which is semi-manageable now because I place puppy pads next to the litterbox. She also has blood in her urine. She's had 2 rounds of antibiotics and her culture is bacteria-free, so she has "idiopathic cystitis," ie no known cause. The vet suggests I give her Gabapentin to "manage stress," and I guess I'll try it, but I doubt the cause is "stress." I'm considering that the cats got Covid from me in 2023, when I was completely bed-bound for 4 weeks and sick for months, and that may be the source of their autoimmune disease too (they both have IBD) and complications. Which means, not much to be done. They're already both on prednisone for IBD, which shortens their lives all by itself. We (meaning my Mom, they're her cats too) have spent a lot of money on teats and treatments and vet visits, and some point need to stop and let the inevitable occur. My poor kitty.Here's a pic of her cooling off on the floor under the ceiling fan yesterday.
