Meant to have an OT come out to see mum at 11am. It's been a while since mum has seen one so home care suggested checking in. OT herself was doubtful she's have anything extra she could add at this point. Might as well give it a go and see if there's anything else we can do. Hopefully stuff that doesn't cost $$$$ - mum has spent such a lot already. Everything aged care always seems to come with a hefty price tag.

For example, if we'd rented the super duper extra special mattress mum had while in hospital last year, she'd have spent over $7k by this point. Like seriously! Not made of money. We already have the hospital bed and a pressure mattress that were not cheap which an OT recommended early on (and wouldn't recommend a full air mattress at the time, despite mum's neurological condition being progressive - so total bed care was always on the cards).

The thing that really sh!ts me is that the aged care home the hospital were pushing us to place mum in has exactly the same type of bed as we do. And were going to sling lift mum into a mobile bed chair (not sure what they're called officially but they seem to warehouse ppl into them during the day). Despite us being told mum can't be allowed to sit because of the location of her chronic wound. So rules for thee but not for me.

Anyway, feeling a bit crankypants today. Struggled to get back to sleep after mum's 3amish care stuff. So that's not helping. Plus a little emotional hangover from yesterday i suspect.

Taking a break out in the side yard for a cuppa - fancy loose leaf green tea.OT visit went well. She approved of how we've been handling things - there's nothing much she was able to recommend at this point. And that's good to know. A couple of health supply deliveries popped up for mum.Gave one of the Pal Care nurses an update on what was happening with mum. Wound up enough from everything that's been happening that it probably sounded like i needed the good drugs.
