@MichaelKlamerus OK, working hypothesis: I just found this trademark filing. https://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=97242341&caseSearchType=US_APPLICATION&caseType=DEFAULT&searchType=statusSearchA "MMMera, Inc." has owned the trademark for "Laura Bow" since 2023. That appears to be Marcus Mera, producer on the recent Colossal Cave.I think this developer noticed that the Laura Bow trademark was abandoned and registered it, but they've made the common mistake that registering an abandoned trademark also grants you the *copyright* in previous works released under that trademark.

@MichaelKlamerus I might be wrong - maybe they got the license from Microsoft. But putting up a store page without any Microsoft copyright notices tells me they think they can do this without that.

Al Lowe did get the license for Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded. I remember crowdfund backing it .. huh, but it's no longer available on the steam store:https://store.steampowered.com/app/231910/Leisure_Suit_Larry_in_the_Land_of_the_Lounge_Lizards_Reloaded/...don't seem to have my original copy either 😩
