Israel relies heavily on something like five water desalinization plants for their water supply. With the US air assets in the region we could easily disable two or three of them and force Netanyahu into a peaceful transition of power to a provisional US-backed political faction. We can then simply pressure that new, democratically elected government to negotiate a peace with Iran with whatever concessions necessary on Israel's part.That way we can easily both bring a former ally to heel, realign their policy interests to ours (keeping global seaways open to trade) and stamp out another war in the middle east before any significant civilian casualties could even occur.And the desalinization plants? Let me explain the technique for exposing bad-faith subversive emotional manipulators:First, use the socratic method to force them to concretely define their position and beliefs. Ask questions about their position until you can get them to answer "So what do you want? What concrete actionable steps do want to be taken?" Do not allow them to use abstracts.There's a certain group that often tries to disengage at this step because they know where it leads. This is their best option: Shutting up. That's a win for your position because you silenced your opposition.If they answer that instead, ask them how that benefits you. Again, force them to answer clearly without abstracts. This has three outcomes:1) If it genuinely does benefit you, you can agree with them because you misread them as a subversive emotional manipulator. Since all you did was ask them to clarify their position, no harm, no foul, it's all good. You didn't accidentally turn an ally into an enemy.2) If they say it would benefit you, but it clearly doesn't, you can tell them. "I don't want that because it doesn't benefit me."2a) If they tell you should want it anyway, ask if telling people to want specific things is a good action that helps them, then tell them to adopt your belief. Either you force an impasse from direct confrontation with an alien nonreciprocal morality system or they have to adopt your position to publicly remain self-consistent. 3) If they say it's not about your interests but to help another group's interests, tell them it's bad for you and your group's interests so you have to oppose it. If they try to tell you have to anyway such as "because putting your own interests above others is wrong," ask if THEY have to put the interests of other groups above their own.3a) If they say yes, then point out that they don't care about your group's interests because they want something bad for you. This proves their morality is nonreciprocal which makes it subversive and evil. 3b) If they say no, force them to explain why you need to do this but they don't. This forces them to exposes themselves (at best) as internally inconsistent while they dance around exposing their morality system as subversive and evil. This is the closest thing they have to a success state: blustering to hide subversive morality. I don't have a good way to force an error here yet.This is why you always see me suddenly adopting hyper-selfish positions when someone tries to appeal to my morality: Both because it's really funny and makes people laugh and because it performs these steps extremely quickly. It's a deliberate rhetorical trick I've relied on for years.
