@futurebird I'm convinced that—up until 2016—there was an unadmitted promotion ladder through the Foreign Service leading up to SecState and a run on the White House that required, as one of the tests of fitness, that the aspiring future POTUS must run a short victorious war or bomb the crap out of one of the usual suspects. @rakoo @Em Iran isn't building a nuclear weapon and there was no urgency about them being on some "verge" I agree.Further I think this question of who can and can't have ... UH *technology* isn't something many speak about with maturity or realism. However, I don't think Iran is interested in atomic energy for purely academic reasons. Also obvious. But, the idea that the words "Iran nuke" should make me an ordinary American cry with fear is dead. They played it out.

@rakoo @Em Sadly I think the whole "scary Arab with beard" still works on a lot of people in the US. Not that "the people" have had much of a say in the BS for a long time. @futurebird @rakoo @Em Something I've been wondering. US bombed these because they were nuclear facilities. Nuclear facilities presumable have radioactive stuff on site. What happens to all that stuff now? Is it going to quietly sit in its reinforced containment area? Or has the US, for practical purposed, just dropped time delayed dirty bombs on Iran?
