       @dasmatus as a creator with YouTube revenues, I can assure you that the few bucks of the ads isn't the number one issue for many small or medium creators (who need to rely on patreon\tipeee\etc more to pay the bills). The main attraction to a platform like YouTube is the discoverability via the search engine or the recommendation system. The issue is then more about promising to creators large number of views , new visitors, and growing audience size, than ads revenues IMO.  @MikeH

       @davidrevoy @MikeH Don't forget that the educational sector. Most educational publishers now use embedded YouTube in their online materials, often including all advertising trackers. This is a clear violation of the the GDPR. With PeerTube there is now a good alternative, and GDPR-compliance gives a clear incentive to migrate.
