       @stux So many posts say something along the lines of “this is bad”, but, until you read the alt text for the image, you don't know which of the many bad things present they're specifically talking about.

       @stux Everybody fedi dev: All the photojournalists do this twice !!!They do their best to caption simply every image (crazy ;) - often people in agencies add more info (super crazy).When I then post the image to the fedi I have to look the IPTC info up again. This is not necessary. There are JS parsers [also for exif, id3 and all the meta].When you upload an Image it should already populate the properties for as:Image - nameMap, summaryMap, contentMap  – cause we do it multilanguage (hyper crazy) …

       @stux I like it when the alt text says something about the person describing what is on the picture. So id rather have a short or long or wonky description than a computer generated blahblah-that is devoid of feelingI try to do it when I can. But sometimes I can't. So then I don't.

       @stux I find writing alt-text kinda fun. You can use it as a sort of image-based writing prompt. It's a good way to practice descriptive writing.
