@EatKnitSleepAgain I remember a few years ago being reminded of the existence of Findus Crispy Pancakes, which were my favourite thing ever as a kid. It turns out you can still get them, and they are vile.

@Flick @Brookryn I must have as a child, because there wasn't a dog or cat in the whole of the island that didn't have the tin dish for their own afterwards, but I can remember nothing of it. Maybe I blocked the memory 😆

@EatKnitSleepAgain @Flick Obviously I can't say for sure but also almost everything has been tampered with so much that even if they were ok...depending on one's taste...I would bet they are probably not the same as they used to be.This putting sweeteners into everything has made a lot of things disgusting, recipes changed to "improve" them but really trashed them, bought pastry blocks etc full of oils and margarine and not butter or lard.

@HebrideanHecate @Flick Sweeteners are a massive pain in the arse. Offspring gets a headache from them, and some things (especially squash) are getting really hard to find versions without them.

@Brookryn @EatKnitSleepAgain @Flick It's better to reduce the sugar amount and tweak recipe if need be and just have less of it than putting that muck into a thing. I have a lemonade recipe, will need to make some again, haven't for a while.
