For the last few months I was really really worried about the rapid decline of the US right before our eyesA lot of officials remained silent, companies kissed the ring etcThe recent rise up against Musk was a great start but I think today was a day that really gave hope!So many people showed up across the US, that really shows we're not alone in this and that we're all sick and tired of itKeep it peaceful, keep protesting and keep resisting!You are truly wonderful!❤️#NoKings

@stux It takes the opposition a while to coalesce and seep out into the media. The media only know how to tell stories that fit their existing narratives. It takes them a while to learn new ones.

@stux The protest in Philadelphia was utterly peaceful and rather well-attended. I saw some great signs, at least one anti-fascist flag, and Malcolm Nance.

@stux I've been around long enough (i.e., I'm old enough) to have lived through a number of events that generated large protests. It typically takes a while for these to get started. It is kind of like an immune response to a virus - it takes some time to ramp up. Another analogy would be the algorithms used in distributed systems to elect a leader (some entity coordinating a task): it is a process that doesn't happen instantly.

@stux I've seen the numbers 5 million and 11 million. I have no idea if either of those numbers are accurate, but whatever the number, Americans realized they have power, they are the majority, and we can turn this around. We've made it so much harder for ourselves by letting Trump and other extremists into public office/power, but we can do this!!!! We can. It will just take perseverance and lots of hard work.

@stux I’ve been living in Europe for quite a while now,It has given me hope seeing the response yesterday. I wish i could have attended. (seattle was my last home in the US).
