Can we talk about how easy it is to buy police/military uniforms, gear, toys etc?The guns are the biggest problem but so is how easy it is to get kitted out like GI Joe in a mech suit. Impersonation crimes keep happening and no one says anything about these aliexpress mail order combat dudes. It's bad, right?

@futurebird I don't know about now, but I remember when you could get military uniforms at the thrift store.

@gdinwiddie That's always been true, but there are also some laws on the book that make impersonating police a very serious crime. However when the "police" are so vague and masked and won't identify themselves either this is inevitable.

@futurebird in most states it's also easy to get a "security" job that grants access to police databases. And many states make it easy to become a "bounty hunter" and get access that way. Then there's the nightmarishly bad security of police databases ... *sigh*
