@tigerpunk Um, tourism is when they come here legally, stay for a couple of weeks, then GO HOME with pictures and souvenirs and hopefully some fond memories. What you are talking about, no one is coming, is illegal immigrants. Good.

@tigerpunk 14% totally this level. I know people like to do the sky is falling fear thing but this is just not the case. The situation between Israel and Iran, that is something worth worrying about.

@nanook there have been recessions below 5% that have caused layoffs in every industry... But in America, if more people become homeless they just send the cops to move them out of the public eye...

@tigerpunk Some industries are naturally variable, and travel is one of them. It may cause layoffs, but that is a natural consequence of variability, people in that industry need to be prepared to do other useful things during those lulls.

@tigerpunk It was down by twice that during covid, and yet the industry still survived. Past recessions, variation in fuel cost, have caused large variations as well. Life will go on.
