@Lohynochka @gnome because by giving up control of their infra to AWS, they expose themselve to what exactly happened the international court that trump pressure by having ordered microsoft to cut their connection ... exactly what microsoft did, so if trump say ... cut EU to force it's "deal" poof no acces to their own service anymore

@heartshadows @gnome Thanks for the clarification. I can see how this could be a precedent, but I think this is an extreme example. I don't like Amazon and most certainly would not defend them, but open source needs all the help it can get. Is there an European service provider similar to Amazon?

@Lohynochka @gnome many in germany nederlands france etc, i understand they need the help, but they could had moved outside EU download etc to the AWS yet maintaining inside EU operation trough EU services.so if the madman continue, at least they don't lose everything.

@Lohynochka @gnome because using them would create an indirect dependancy over amazon... and spoiler alert many people use linux to not to have to use US company as gnome have their own system to connect to.So now many of us, will simply not use gnome as DE and donnation will fall (because if i move on KDE it's KDE that will have my annual donation).
