       If you're scared to go to a protest tomorrow, you should know the ones that are organized in advance and become very big are unlikely to be dangerous early on. probably lots of families, dogs, strollers, old people. there's a moment when those start clearing out. If you want, you can peace out right then and there. keep an eye on it!

       in the beginning you will see large TV crews with vans and dishes and anchors doing live broadcasts from the sidewalk. at some point those  start to clear out, and you're only left with the odd camera person and the photojournalists. maybe that's your time to head home. up to you!

       IMO don't listen to anyone with a megaphone, trust your situational awareness.  do you feel comfortable? what are other people doing? what are cops doing? if you had to leave right now, what's your plan? etc.

       anyway for the vast majority of people going to a protest is a good experience. you can say "I'll be there for an hour" and then go. you will find a lot of energy and community and release from isolation and despair. no one knows what's going to happen ever (of course) but generally going out there is worth it.

       @lzg fair advice. I've never protested but have photographed and filmed them before . Same tomorrow, there's one in a nearby metro i am going to check out. I don't believe there's actually an organized protest tomorrow, but there's only one way i can be sure, and that's to be there in person and ask, if anyone else is there. Unfortunately i can only do this for 1 location, as the window is only 2 hours and that's not enough time to verify and move to a new location.
