       @melmc The catch in that opinion is "independent thriving of the population". Once the fraud, theft, high taxes, and low job rate are dealt with, and the average Joe can thrive independently, reducing entitlements will work. But the "average Joe didn't make the mess, and he doesn't deserve to be its victim.
