       @Seeker Quite beautiful, yes. #GenAI has gotten to the point where it can whip up simulacra that are undeniably #veryhot. That's why I appreciate it greatly when it is labelled clearly. I didn't know it was AI until I saw @gentlemanlover's comment. I guess I'm an old-fogey that it bothers me that I was fooled. I can't even claim to have a good reason: Artistic photography has always been about illusion, showing people what they want, not what is.

       @Seeker @gentlemanlover @veryhot I guess, I just see us in a golden age right now of artistic photography which will soon be eclipsed by #GenAI. Photography from live models is awkward, expensive, and time-consuming. After all, if humans want to view pictures that activate certain parts of their brain,  soon they'll be able to do so on their own devices at the press of button. Millions of beautiful faces in a microsecond, and each one tuned precisely to the viewer's taste.

       @Seeker @gentlemanlover @veryhot I have long appreciated Pictures of Beauty (@veryhot) as a curator with superb taste in photography. I hope that the focus will be on beautiful humans while we are still in this golden age. Consider how lucky we are that we live in a time when #veryhot photographs of living humans outnumber artificially generated images. In not too long it will be unimaginable that we had such a surplus of human beauty that we needed a curator to pick out the best of the best.

       @abananabag @Seeker @gentlemanlover The focus is still on beautiful humans, no worries. I share your sentiment, but not the gloomy future part. Change is always uncomfortable, but the way "gen" part works - it needs actual content, a lot of it, to produce something realistic. As we enter the era of generated content, this also changes the proportion of real content, it just can't be produced as quickly.
