       I made an interesting discovery in subnautica. Not a "traditional" discovery (in the 'hidden treasure' sense), but something about game design and mechanics.I realized that you can speedrun obtaining the SeaMoth, all the basic tools and equipment, and the battery charger and modification station in top 45 minutes of the game, regardless of where you spawned.1/#Subnautica #Speedrunning

       Some key points:* You can find 3 silver ores in the Safe Shallows easily, if you explore the different caves in the Shallows.* There are triple sandstone points in the big coral tunnel that leads to the kelp zone, NEAR said tunnel (beware, crashfish), and there's sandstones scattered in various caves, like the big kelp ridge.*  The SeaMoth parts can be found, 99% of the time, in BOTH East and West red grass areas. Only once there were only two parts in one.2/

       * The propulsion cannon, battery charger, and modification station can be found in either the big wreck near Lifepod 6 (East plateau), or the big and small wrecks near Lifepod 17 (West plateau)* In both plateaus there's enough parts for the bioreactor and scanner room.* Parts for the Mobile Vehicle bay are scattered in the kelp areas, but  more often than not they're in the wreck North of Lifepod 3.3/

       * The compass can either be found in Lifepod 3 or the wreck far south of the kelp biome.* There are two major caves where tons of sandstone can be found: In a deep cave East of Lifepod 3 (warning: mesmers can attract you long enough to drown unless you have an air bladder), or in the vent North East of Lifepod 3.4/

       My route goes as follows:1) Get 8 acid mushrooms.2) Find the nearest creepvine seeds and swim (not dive, swim) there. On the way, grab one bladderfish and one piece of scrap metal.Go back ASAP.3) Find 3 copper ores to get a copper wire and a battery.  4) Craft 4 pairs of rubber, and 3 lubricants.5) Craft an air bladder and an air tank.6) Find shallow caves, get 3 silver ore and 6 quartz. 5/
