My plan for the current Vibe Coding craze?Somehow make it through the next three to five years without touching it. After that, all the AI using devs will be so brainrotten that people who actually know how to make software will be considered gods and can demand pretty much any salary... 😏

@brudibrau my plan is to tell our juniors about the drug dealer tactic known as "the first dose is free" and compare it to the free tier of the AI assistants.I don't want them to stop using AI, I want them to realize that VC-backed companies are like cloaked individuals in a back alley trying to sell you "the good stuff".

@skyglobe Oh, my junior always tries to solve her problems with ChatGPT and if that doesn't work calls for my help to figure it out and fix it.In your metaphor, we should possibly try a withdrawal clinic 😆

@justdude That would be great. And fair compensation for the risk I am taking. There's still a slight chance that these Cylon-lovers are actually right, vibe coding is really the future and I become obsolete... 😅

@brudibrau Some simple things like spell checking, are renamed in to the “AI powered typographic real time effortless checker”So we are living in the world of making money, and if it saves money some roles will be replaced.Until now ? Nah

@justdude And looking at the history of software development, new technologies that should "replace programmers" have always been used to make the existing clusterfrak more complex, not to actually replace programmers.I think, we're safe 🙂
