since the beginning of my mastodon days, i have been aware of you, @stux as a friendly presence and i knew you hosted one or another mastodon servers, but i hadn't thought about it.i finally took the time to notice the difference between mastodon.social and mstdn.social. and what your solo hosting brings to the fediverse. if i want to send you some one-time currency, can you say which of your listed donation platforms takes the smallest cut from you?

@stux It's a sort of marketing problem. People have been conditioned to think that internet services are free, because that's all they've experienced. To intellectually and consciously make the change of paying for social media, even though it makes perfect sense inside one's head, is a very difficult fight against taught monkey instincts.
