@Ilka4You @davidaugust my hypothesis on this behavior is: they have no moral core. Lying is just necessary and part of the job to ensure the goals they have. They have no conscience.I would die on stage multiple times when I would need to lie like that.

@Maxfieldripken many wanna be fascists have been thwarted non-violently. Autocracies have actually been stopped from seizing total power faster and more often in non-violent ways. Anything violent, genuine or not, “done” by the people is typically used to justify further oversteps and expansion of power. Leaving the compromised state as the only violent actor (the people remaining non-violent) often helps dismantle the illegitimate power.

@davidaugust Yeah, can you think of any in the last 30 years?I think sometimes it's hard to tell...hard to prove a negative. Like THIS situation could have become autocratic, but this other thing subverted it. On one level we can never know. Sometimes?And there's also a fuzzy line of when people have to move past non-violence because it's gone too far.
