@spencerbeswick Well, when you look at the white supremacist textbooks many of us learned from, at least in mine, the entirety of the content around the Civil Rights movement was:"There were some sit ins, Rosa Parks wouldn't give up her seat on the bus, then MLK gave a speech about I have a dream, then they passed the Civil Rights Act and we Solved Racism Forever".

@spencerbeswick Not that it's an excuse, obviously, but it's no surprise that a large number of Americans literally don't know our own history, even the stuff from just 60 years ago.

@spencerbeswick I can only imagine how heartbreaking it was for MLK Jr. to be doing all this nonviolent and peaceful protesting against racism and still getting framed as the bad guy back in the 1960's.
