I see more people putting up links to Linkedin.. To be honest, I much rather just have a plain .txt file to readLinkedin keep trying to verify me as non-bot after X seconds or scrolling on their pagePretty sure I am not the only one clicking away the page when this happensSo.. if you want your stuff read.. Don't share a Linkedin post :nkoShrug:

@stux I see more and more people using LinkedIn as a replacement for Facebook/X/etc. instead of the boring business rolodex it used to be. LI still sucks because of its algorithm and ads, though, but the actual content seems to be improving.

@stux There are so many sites I end up just giving up on because they're hostile towards my VPN. Sure many might work ok if I do without the VPN and ironically many work through TOR, but I get sick of dealing with it. Most I don't want to have access to my real IP (or the ISP tracking that I'm accessing them for that matter -- the less it has the better) but I get tired of waiting for the TOR browser to start up just to load up one site and then close it again.You're absolutely right. People need to stop linking to bad sites like linkedin. Screenshots, pastebin, etc etc -- there are alternatives.

@nuintari @stux I was on LinkedIn for a total of 6 months before deleting the account. It was worthless. Zero legit job offers or interest. Only spam and fake job offers.

@stux@mstdn.social I'm considering deleting my LinkedIn. It might be necessary in a few years time, but for now it's just the dullest social media I have, and the PWA also doesn't work.

@stux linkedin is, for me, just a spam site. In the past few years, I have not had anything useful. Most requests show the sender has not bothered to read my profile..

@stux Every few months, I login to LinkedIn, see what the two people I follow there are posting about, logout.I used to get all kinds of stupid spam messages from recruiters misinterpreting terms in my profile. Yes, I own my little business. That doesn't mean I'm interested in franchising my little business or other such, yet I got piles of offers about how I could turn it into a lucrative franchise operation.I'm retired, take your lies elsewhere!

@stux I had a similar experience with LinkedIn and my resume last time I was passing around links to it. Popped up a login wall the second (and any subsequent) time any client IP asked for it.
