I was one of those people who ran a "cracked version" of Siri on a phone that did not support it when it released for the first timeNowadays I stay far, far away from "Siri" and AIKinda the exact same with cryptocurrency!

Huh.Maybe I am part of the issue. If I and people like me do not show interest for new experimental tech, maybe it does not grow mainstream and ruins the world in another extra way.. 🤔

@stux No.The problem is that LLMs are not and can not ever become AI. Period. The way they work is incapable of doing the fundamentals that are necessary for this to happen. Yet, despite this fact, corporations and CEOs are pushing it hard on everyone, trying to pretend that it is no matter how much they have to burn down to do so in the process.I mean, LLMs have their uses, but they aren't really being put to said uses. They're being used in the worst ways possible instead and that's being forced on us.So it's not that you're resistive to the technology, you're resistive to the awful way it's being used and what is being done with it.

@stux I feel your pain. I was a cypherpunk into PGP/GPG so to hear crypto become synonymous with Ponzi schemes bums me out. Not even going to mention every company bailing on climate change so they can jump on the LLM bandwagon.

@stux That's exactly my history with Whatsapp.I was among the first to use Whatsapp, while everybody said it was nonsense. When Whatsapp got sold to Meta, I was among the first to leave Whatsapp behind. And now everybody wants to stay addicted to Whatsapp.What a contrast.
