@Will2Power Its worse than you can imagine. There is one grower in Washington who is keeping hundreds of Heirloom tobacco varieties alive. The government no longer releases seed and has lost many crop varieties (not just tobacco) because of mismanagement at ARS-GRIN.

@Shini_Koroshi I know a little bit about different tobacco varieties. One of them being that Perique tobacco is only grown in one specific area of Louisiana. I need to go visit them some time and check it out.
