Here's the kind of day I've had today:* Kid can't access VM they use to play games. They are home for the summer with nothing else to do today, better fix this ASAP. Parents, you know what I mean* Hmm, restarting it, etc. etc. doesn't help* Oh I can't even get to the datacenter the VM is in* Oh, but I can from work network 🤔 * <Hour of messing around with my router and firewall rules commences>* Finally discover: there is a routing loop out there in some backbone network. The TLA ruining everything today is probably: BGP* Communicating this to the cloud provider's support* My WiFi drops right in the middle of this process* This stupid Intel BE200 WiFi NIC I installed a few weeks ago is just too flaky, I'm going to take it out and reinstall the old NIC* Open my laptop and... the battery is bulging. Uh oh.Anyway that's how my kid wanting to play Minecraft saved me from having my laptop explode

@dan Well, I'm 99% sure it's not my ISP (Google Fiber) nor the AS that hosts the VM (Paperspace AKA Digital Ocean) it appears to be in twelve99.net (AKA Arelion, FKA Telia). Well, it could be BGP between DO and Arelion. Firing up a bunch of measurement probes to try to convince someone...

@ricci I'm not sure if I have mentioned this but my ISP's IPv6 support is so bad that I got myself an ASN and prefix of my own, and now I have tunnels established to multiple VPSes from which I advertise routes over BGP
