@BasedLunatic @lain You've only known Spain for a few decades. As someone with ancestors there going back at least to the Visigoth kingdom, I can tell you bitching about the state of the country is just normal Spanish behaviour. Take a Spanish man away from the motherland for two weeks though and he'll be crying about how much he misses it and how beautiful it is.

@nerthos @lain to be honest I been in Spain since I was 6 months old and I am 42 now. Just permanently since 2010. My theory is that Scandinavians are like cows on a farm, the happiest because they don’t know they are living on a farm. I am 1/4 Spanish, but nature of my family means my mother and aunts is half Spanish half Norwegian. But don’t know anything other than Spain. And my Spanish cousins would be 1/4 Norwegian. They are in Switzerland my aunt, cousin and my aunts Spanish husband, and they are about to go insane after 15 years there. They are even considering getting half pension, they can’t take the Swiss and they have no idea how the Swiss can live in the society they have. I tried explaining to Spanish people that the north of Europe is wealthy but miserable. Some understand, but most don’t

@nerthos @lain what my aunts husband will do when usually some East German imported to Switzerland worker starts getting bad mouthed and treating him like below him because he is Spanish is lift them by the neck and put the fear of God in him. He possesses abnormal strength having worked construction since he was a kid, and had a successful construction company before 2008 financial crisis. He had quite some talks with the boss. But since he is such a extremely good and profitable worker they always end up forgiving him.
