@dhry I mean, its a really good meme, tbh i saved it too.But i can understand your frustration with the notifications, when i had a comment that went viral on Instagram i turned of notifications for instagram, because it drove me nuts.Aren't you able to turn the notifications off for that post or "mute" it?

@xaetacore Oh, I did that early yesterday. Not a big deal. Just mildly sad that Masturbdon highlights tripe like this for people to mass-like instead of real engaging content.I don’t have any examples of engaging content that spring to mind though. Probably because it’s 2am..

@dhry Partially because there is no algorithm to feed people this at least not like with other social networks, you build your own feed here.At least thats how i understand it.

@xaetacore You do build your own feed, but you can also see “currently trending” and from experience it only takes about fifty or so likes and reposts of anything before it becomes a flame for moths. One of many things Mastodumb could fix, others being the 500 char max post limit, inability to attach more than 4 jpgs per post, inability to mix a video and a jpg in the same post (wtf) etc etc.

@xaetacore I know it can be changed. The fact that the main mastodon instance has NOT changed it and that it’s the default is archaic and just plain ridiculous. This is 2025 and we’re still unnecessarily limiting users as though the system were Twitter in the early 2000’s.
