How much do people care about absolutely exclusive content wrt my substar? I don’t really get any comments on there when I post but obvs I know ppl enjoy my stuff to sub to it. I was curious bc I don’t really feel like there’s much need to put most of my art behind a paywall except when I’m putting up actual comic pages (will do in the near future) so I wanted to know what would incentivize ppl to be more interested in subbing?I’ve seen ppl say they are fine to treat it like a tip jar just-

To help me out as opposed to needing a lot of exclusive content on it but I wanted to get a broader understanding from my audience!The other issue is I think I gotta be careful and avoid sharing lolisho stuff there bc that’s still an issue I saw in the TOS so that’s gonna make it difficult to make my work exclusive on there at all.

@afairmaiden I know it's not really the same, but I do fairly tame porn stuff over on Patreon and there is clear interest for the content I have behind a paywall. People are usually willing to pay $10-$20 for exclusive content. I still use Substar too but the way payouts work is honestly such a pain in the ass that I really only use it for the occasional taboo exclusive art anymore.

@afairmaiden absolutely exclusive content might not be the move since it seems like you’ve gotta regrow your audience.Once you get your comic going though and you’ve got us hooked and addicted to your blorbos, maybe you could do early releases? That’d get me in pretty sure.Tho if your just using substa as a tip jar, I would suggest giving an option to donate more than $10. I know when you were in the shit I was mad I wasn’t able to

@afairmaiden On further thought, you could put your WIP and behind the scenes as exclusive content, and that would probably help to pull in die hard fans. Maybe even add side stories that you don’t have time to work into the main comic!I’d say depending on the audience canonical porn would work since that works for the person doing the harpy couple on YouTube, but that’d be lolsho I think so prob not that lol

@FillerName yeah that’s where I’m at with it rn. Making my comic exclusive when I don’t have a large audience for it rn doesn’t seem worth it.I’ll probably see about doing more exclusive content later when I have a baseline of where I’m going with everything. ❤️

@zoichi yeah apparently it isn’t, so i’m nervous to share on there the way I wanted. :( bc if i lose my account on there i have zero way to rly monetize my art in the most direct wayI hate feeling like everything I make is playing with fire. My art is so tame compared to most other work I see (even non taboo subject matter) and I’m still getting accounts axed. 😭🫠 fucked up. I think I gotta keep it more as a tip jar for now unfortunately.
