       @TonyStark A huge factor (IMHO) is our society values individualism over collectivism.  IE-"I don't care about immigrants, or anyone who needs aid for that matter - I want the price of MY MY MY eggs down.  Individualistic tendencies include - valuing competition more highly than cooperation; desire for individual recognition and credit; failure to acknowledge how what we know is informed by so many others; a lack of accountability - hence part of #TACO 's and his corrupt party's allure

       @ienvision I’d agree with all of that.There are far too many Americans in 2025 who won’t do the absolute bare minimum for other people, things that cost them personally little to nothing.

       @TonyStark @ienvision Look at the resistance to wearing masks during a pandemic. That's crazy! It's a bare minimum of human compassion toward others but it was a bridge too far for so many USians.

       @robcinos Anyway the Tea Party’s tactics were also horrible.The Tea Party movement was entirely corporate-funded but was made to appear like spontaneous community action, which is actually astroturfing, if you’re familiar with that.The Tea Party was funded by elites. It was racist. And it doesn’t exist anymore. We don’t want those tactics. We want to unify people, not take them over or have a Civil War.Does that make sense?
