And what is amazing, is the entirety of his experience is summed up in his into>"A day came that I should have died, and after that nothing seemed very important.>So I have stayed as I am, without regret, separated from the normal human condition."

@graf Currently reading Blood Meridian, modern literature take on classic western. I enjoy westerns. If you enjoy postmodern, Underworld by Don Delillo may be my favorite read. It's a toss up between that and Infinite Jest, but it's more accessible than Jest. I also loved The Corrections by Franzen. If you like fantasy, Patrick Rothfuss is a good writer. If you like alt history, Orson Scott Card's Alvin Maker series is a fantastic read. Ironweed by William Kennedy is a beautiful work of fiction. Last one, for now is Tideland by Mitch Cullin,Terry Gilliam turned it into a haunting film. I would appreciate hearing your recommendations.
