       When mike@flipboard.social interviewed @chrismessina on the Dot Social podcast;https://dot-social.simplecast.com/episodes/chris-messina-nhUtOY8h... they briefly criticised "hashtag stuffing". OK, guilty as charged.But on the fediverse, hashtags are what we use for discovery instead of serendipity generators ("The Algorithms").        @strypey You can "hashtag stuff" a post in a non-twattish way as long as you donate brain cells when considering which ones to add.The crime is when people just add tags to try to game the system or garner unearned attention. They create the collective action problem.
