       It used to seem to me like people into FOSS were withholding information from everyone, and I didn't understand why anyone who knows of the political impacts of software licensing wouldn't be constantly sharing the information with people who don't.But I understand now. It's because it's maddening to be misunderstood, especially as doing the opposite of what you're doing, and that's what often happens when you try to share info about FOSS to politically empower people who don't have that info.
