I regularly depend on a piece of software (the development of which I helped to fund, but) which has been shelved by the author. It works, I use it to power our television network. But it has a few flaws and paper cuts that I'd love to see get addressed. I dont personally have the time to fix these things right now, I'm doing too many other things and most of them do not involve writing code. Are there any #Rust devs in the fedi who want to take on a couple of bug fixes and a feature request for the latest version of ffplayout? Take a look at the code, send me a quote, if I can afford it I'll gladly pay it.

The problems I'd most immediately like to address are:1) the advanced playlist generator's initial timestamp is bugged, and you have to replace it one character at a time. I've never seen anything like it, it's real wacky. But ultimately it is just a basic UI error that should be pretty quick to fix. 2) I'd like to be able to make advanced Playlist builder templates and save them, rather than takinf the time to build the template from scratch each day. (Our daily blocks are always the same length at the same time of day, most of them are built out of the same folders each time. Only a a few items need to change from day to day, but instead of having a template with some blanks I have to rebuild the Playlist from scratch 7 times a week.) 3) I'd love to introduce very slightly more nuance to the advanced Playlist builder's algorithm. Instead of a flat "shuffle" or don't, I'd prefer to add a "least recently played." I can think of several ways to do this without depending on adding a database or much additional functionality. 4) I need to be generating an EPG for lots of reasons, and I'm not right now. There's a database based EPG hack for ffplayout, but I don't like it. I'd prefer something built around .nfo files, so I don't have to maintain a database alongside this standalone app. Do any of these things sound like tasks you'd be interested in tackling.

My budget for all this isn't huge, but mostly these also aren't huge lifts. If you think you can do it, and you quote me something that feels reasonable, I'll probably take it.
