       You know what, fedi? I keep thinking about it and each day that passes, I use less and less technology. Like... a lot of the technology we use in our everyday life, as just regular people, is kinda useless. If not useless at all. Like... I use my computer mostly to go into fedi and write stuff, and to play games. I use my tablet to go into fedi as well. I rarely touch my phone even though I carry it with me wherever I go...I think that, most of the technology that sells is designed just to be sold. And the sad thing is, this has always been true. It doesn't really offer you much to improve your life or make it easier. It's like, yeah... we have all this technology, and this is cool and all... but I can do all I need with less, actually. The rest are just artificially imposed necessities.Like requiring a modern phone for whatsapp or stuff like that. Like... I could pretty much use IRC but of course my friends and the people I still talk to over whatsapp, which are few, don't even know what that is. Let alone how to use it. I mean, technically I would require a bit more than IRC to send photos (no, not nudes), but still, I could probably even make my own IM if I wanted to.

       @enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be my wife uses almost 10 year old phone, it just works. My phone is also about 5 years old. Rat race to buy the latest thing is definitely pointless.
