@hedders @astronomerritt This is actually what I really like about being from a country that doesn't have a super strong culinary tradition of it's own, there are so so many kinds of food available so if you don't love the food we're known for, not really a big deal

@astronomerritt @ricci Yeah, I *love* traditional British food, but it needs to be done well because it's really not foolproof and easy to do badly.

@hedders @astronomerritt I grew up eating a lot of what I *thought* were traditional Italian and German food, it wasn't until well into adulthood that I realized they were the americanized versions

@hedders we did get some traditional Italian baking from my Grandma, though, when one of my aunts went to Italy she commented that she could tell when she was getting close to where the Bozzis were from because of the baked goods
