@Nonilex This is a really really important point that I wish more people understood.Each of these small acts of over-compliance just makes the authoritarianism easier to grow. It doesn't put one in a position of better power later -- it actually weakens that power.It really scares me that so few of those in power right now can see this.

@Nonilex "When citizens must think twice about criticizing or opposing". To remind you: Adolf Hitler was also elected. After being elected he abolished democracy. Also only pro-government judges were allowwed (in democracy a judge verdicts by the actual law, regardless of anyone's status). Compare this with U.S. today: the regime ignores judges and puts people in jail without a verdict. My judgement: it's time to resist, help people in hiding, make a true news network, underground raiways.
