@afairmaiden My condolences. Grief is tough for many people. I've lost countless loved-ones. If you let yourself heal, I'm sure you'll make it through.

@afairmaiden as someone who's been missing my cats hardcore these past days, this really spoke to meI also once had a dream where I found my cat Lucas, and was so relieved I did like "There you are! We were looking for you everywhere!" and it's not a good feeling when you wake up =sigh=

@afairmaiden Grief is like a tree. The pain of loss is etched into the bark, like a scar. It doesn’t go away, and over time, it might even darken or become more visible. But the tree keeps growing, and the scar becomes a smaller part of the whole.I hope you'll continue to grow, and who knows. Maybe your future branches will invite new friends. :blobheart:

@afairmaiden If I could give you a hug, I would. Unfortunately, I'm some stranger on the Internet and my arms don't stretch forever.

@afairmaiden I'm so sorry for your loss. I had no idea Kitchi went missing. Grief is one of those things that won't ever go away. I've heard people describe it as an open wound that simply heals over time. The scar never goes away, but the wound can still heal over time.

@angieimagines I'm still having nightmares about it so it's been a very deep trauma/wound ;; i don't even know how to process/heal what happened.The fact that he was missing and never found makes it so hard because I can't even move on, I keep dreaming someone found him and just didn't try to return him and he can still be found,,,

@afairmaiden The trauma from a pet going missing vs a pet just passing away is honestly always more complicated, simply because when a pet goes missing, you can't be sure what actually happened to them. Healing from a missing loved one can take years, especially without closure. I'm hoping that even if you don't find Kitchi, you can at least find closure if you find out what happened to him.

@angieimagines thank you so much it's been one of my most deep rooted traumas in the last year as well for reasons far beyond what I can articulate. Kitchi was more than a pigeon to me, he was like my son and getting him lost was a personal failure of mine to keep a innocent creature who was my responsibility to care for safe, I loved him so deeply and he was what gave me a reason to live. I really hope he is found but regardless I really appreciate the words and time to express compassion ;;

@afairmaiden If you ever become lucid in one of these dreams try asking were are you.You might be given the answer. I've had prophetic dreams like that.

@afairmaiden I know just how much you love Kitchi, and it hurts knowing how much this loss has impacted you. I completely understand what it's like to love your animal like they were your child. A lot of my obsessive thoughts revolve around my pets, both current and past, so it's something I think about often and feel the pain of. I resonate a lot with the pain, so I wanted to reach out and say my piece about it. 💖

@afairmaiden Ang will you talk to me? I felt there were so many things I was spoused to talk to you about, existential things.I can forgive you for ghosting me.
