@kaia I lean towards informing. Usually, I ask if they're autistic *like me*. That reduces the chances of them taking it critically (necessary since most of the world is ableist).

@kaia Labels don’t help, so no. It depends on your goals obviously, but it’s better I think to describe a behavior rather than naming it.For instance, “You seem to like things to be organized” rather than “You’re OCD”

@kaia I have weighed this question with my 50 year old sibling. I am unable to see any benefit in telling him. If he were to express an emotion or curiosity such as why he doesn't have friends then I think I would. I am assuming in that situation he would be seeking answers. At this point he is blissfully unaware so there doesn't seem to be a point. But I am his older sibling. If there was value to me in telling him because as a sibling I like to poke once in a while I might. (Not mean, just normal sibling teasing situation.)
