A #Harvard task force released a scathing account of the #university on Tues, finding that #antisemitism had infiltrated coursework, social life, the hiring of some faculty & the worldview of certain #academic programs.A separate report on anti-#Arab, anti-#Muslim & anti-#Palestinian bias [#Islamophobia] on campus, also released on Tues, found widespread discomfort & alienation among those students as well….So same-old-same-old white men are the best treated. #Harvard has sued the #Trump admin in hopes of restoring the #funding, the first #university to do so. Other #schools …targeted by the admin are watching the #litigation closely.In a letter accompanying the 2 reports, Dr. Alan Garber, Harvard’s president, apologized for the problems that the task forces revealed. The #antisemitism report was produced by a task force made up mainly of faculty, but that also included students, a former Hillel director & Harvard’s chief community & campus life officer, whose title was changed from chief diversity & inclusion officer on Tues. The report found that #antisemitism seemed to be more pronounced in branches of the 5university with a #SocialJustice bent, including the graduate school of #education, the #divinity school & the school of #PublicHealth.A similar task force held hundreds of conversations with #Muslim, #Arab & #Palestinian students, staff & faculty members about anti-Muslim bias. That task force summed up the feelings expressed by many of those people in 2 words: “#abandoned & #silenced.”#law #Harvard

@Nonilex It's a complicated topic, and I'm not immersed in it, but is there a consensus on the approved way to express contempt for the policies of Israel the country, and Netanyahu the authoritarian leader, to protest them loudly here in the US and on campuses, without being seen as "antisemetic" ? Is there a way to stop conflating religious, ethnic, and racial identities with political/military actions taken by the governments of the Mideast ?
