       @futurebird @tryst Funny, but capacitors have no direction of installation (diodes do), meaning you can't install the capacitor backwards, technically speaking. Still - funny comment.

       @AlfNoProblem @futurebird @tryst Unless they're electrolytic, in which case they do have a direction. AFAIK in the wrong polarization they have a lower capacitance, but idk if the voltage rating is also lower, or the same in both directions

       @wolf480pl @AlfNoProblem @futurebird @tryst  in wrong direction they tend to fail catastrophically, even way below their rated voltage. Especially the tantalum ones.Polarised electrolytic capacitors can be safely used both ways only to voltages around 1V (they are sometimes used this way in audio applications). This is still not recommended.
