       I'm not a Fosstodon user, never have been but I do know a lot of people over there and man the Fediverse is just exhausting. The small vocal minority of people continue to do everything in there power to make this platform far more toxic than anything they claim to dislike. Just so we're clear, this doesn't end here, the next thing is going to stricter and then more so until these people turn there fangs against you.        If the person you have a problem with leaves and that's still not enough, then you're not looking for a solution you're just looking for destruction and that is not a way to convince anyone that you're in the right.

       @BrodieOnLinux Wow, you've missed the point completely. There are two issues: 1. the person leaving, 2. whether the instance tolerates such views.They repeatedly affirmed the second. And Corey's "balanced take" completely neglects the blatantly fascist crap the mod in question posted.Absolutely not sorry that some fossbros are annoyed that politics are not ignored here.

       @BrodieOnLinux @kev I just wanted to thank the volunteer maintainers of this instance. I'm not much of a 'user' as much as a lurker, but fosstodon was the one I joined when I discovered the fediverse and it's been very calm and uneventful ride so far. I'm sad to see this go down. Frankly I don't even care about the drama itself, but it'd be great if the people angry over this could just move on with block/mute/whatever and leave the rest of us regular users alone.

       @BrodieOnLinux @kev I'm sure a lot of us would rather do something else than now scramble to get to a new instance. While I appreciate mastodon being designed for redundancy (in other platforms we wouldn't even get the choice to move), still it's not seamless. Now I'm waiting for my account in hachyderm to be approved so I have a fallback. I'm sure other people are having similar struggles.And sure, some people might rightfully feel like their platform must pass some moral test. Fair enough.

       @BrodieOnLinux @kev I’m a fosstodon user and haven’t been following any of this, the instance has been wonderful so far in part thanks to the work their team puts in :) I really hope it doesn’t shut down, I don’t want to keep migrating servers every few years. I came from mastodon.technology a while back when they had issues

       @BrodieOnLinux I’m a very casual user on this platform & even I heard about what’s been going down. You act like everyone is upset over a rando tone deaf user vs an admin & high up supporter of the instance.Maybe the guy was truly ignorant of what his words meant like he posted, maybe he was just trying to do damage control - either way doesn’t change that what he posted shouldn’t have been said. I plan to migrate off as well whether the instance does or not.
