       @hetzner What kind of Content? How about a series about #security and #privacy at Hetzner. There's a lot of people here who are interested in these topics. I would especially be interested to learn about your efforts compared to cloud providers linke Google, Amazon and Microsoft who I try to avoid in any way possible.

       @hetzner just be cool..don't be an enterprise, and don't try to be 'funny' like those faceless corporations on Twitter, it won't work here. Post human things, tell us about your challenges, let employees be themselves, etc. Act like a business that involves its customers in its process as stakeholders. All of these will garner you great interactions on Fedi, because people here see through bullshit. Instead of giveaways, perhaps offer discounts or sponsored plans to free software and other social benefit initiatives which you will find an abundance of here.In any case, as long as you see Fedi as a human network, not a social media for your advertising purposes, everyone will be happy and you will get people to trust you.

       @hetzner I think all of the above, probably a small emphasis on "behind the scenes and tech updates" given mastodon is now mostly used by techies but it would be good to have general content to have more presence in the Fediverse for the broad audience. Ideally mastodon would be a normal alternative to other social media platforms and we should encourage it as such.Love your products and services btw, I'm moving everything from all other providers (DNS, Cloud, S3 storage) to Hetzner <3

Nobody here is gonna shut a data center and migrate to Hetzner because of something you post on mastodon. But there are TONS of hobbyists, makers, DIY hosters, and people just trying stuff out. Lean into that dynamic and get content out there that will show them the value of your services to their interests. Put people on mastodon who can spend an hour a day fielding support stuff via social media. You will be the ONLY company doing that on the fediverse and you will stand out. It will earn you trust and, with it, revenue. I am writing to you from a mastodon server running on Hetzner.And if you value the revenue from the fediverse, remember that we are very “woke,” very queer, very furry, very accepting, and totally transgender supporting.        @hetznerA lot has already been said in this thread that I strongly agree with.Until recently I was a Linode customer and I loved it how they were 10+ years ago when I signed up with them. By developers, for developers.It all gradually changed though after Akamai came along and the final nail to the coffin was the regime change in the US.I guess I'm trying to say that I wish that with Hetzner I'd get to interface with real humans instead of a megacorporation.Thanks.

How is your relationship with those vendors / communities? Do you maintain own forks and upstream? Do you use support contracts / commercial Linux distributions that provide you support?

       @hetzner One important thing here would be that you aren't just a bot that just pushes out posts and never reacts. Mastodon is about community. Look how @team  and @ubernauten are doing it as an example. On another note, a separate status bot would be great reporting your system status.

Maybe one small request that could result in such an announcement from someone who already has some Hetzner services: Would like to use the hosted nextcloud but for me - the same problem as with US clouds exist. No easy backup interface. It is not about not trusting your service per se but only a „local“ backup that I hold and can verify is a backup
