[aside cont: if a #family wants to be together—whatever their makeup, that is great. If a committed non-cis-hetero couple devotes itself to family & kids—lucky #kids. If a family decides that what is best for all involved is to not be together, in my experience [particularly in domestic #abuse (physical or emotional) situations, or #loveless ones] that is wonderful too—it acknowledges an awareness of what is best for the #children. And if a person chooses to not procreate, that is their #CHOICE]

@Nonilex I have a lot of thoughts on this too, but they’re probably mostly all things you would agree with and you’re saying it all so well.Speaking as someone who went through an amicable divorce with children, sometimes the best thing long-term for the kids is to have happy, but separated, parents rather than keeping the parents together and that causing resentment between them. And I have no patience for anyone arguing otherwise based on what a long-dead dude once wrote in a book.

@Nonilex My response to people that want to be bossy like that is to repeat the original mission statement of the USA: 'Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness'. Who are those bossy people to tell people they can't pursue happiness? How dare they walk on the original founders of they USA. They should move somewhere else.

@Nonilex I support your position 💯! As someone who grew up in a family with constant physical, emotional and sexual abuse it's not worth staying together. I remember their drag out battles and then the " oh we need to stay together for the children". I also remember telling them not to stay together for us because you're killing us.
