We could very easily afford universal basic income and housing for everyone if we just taxed the rich, companies, and fossil fuels sensibly. And free university education too! by "we" I mean Australia, but it applies to a lot of countries, actually!

@lindamciver I think housing for everyone is cheaper than people think.Providing affordable safe housing: improves physical health and mental health, improves employability, reduces crime rates, reduces prison population, reduces hospital admitions, increased tax revenue, ...However, there are some obstacles to implementing affordable and safe housing for all, including: ideology, and funders not receiving the benefits, both between jurisdictions (federal, state and local) and between government departments (health, housing, justice etc).
