One of the most drastic proposed changes would be eliminating the bureau of African affairs, which oversees policy in sub-Saharan Africa. It would be replaced by a much smaller special envoy office for African affairs that would report to the White House National Security Council. The under secretary position overseeing the first two bureaus would be cut. @Nonilex Trump's "reform" of the State Dept is more dangerous and short-sighted than the McCarthy era purge of employees not as blindly anti-Communist as Curtis LeMay.Apart from gutting staffing, he wants to do away with its rigorous entrance exam - Trump hates tests - and, instead, select candidates for their loyalty to the president. While State's hiring process has always been more subjective than its self-perception of it, Trump's process would ensure the blind lead the blind.

@NonilexI wonder what vectors of attack there are when the government uses AI to make policy documents?The training of a LLM offers so many ways to influence how it will respond to prompts, even very specific changes can be introduced that only reveal themselves when certain criteria are met.Imagine someone inserting a fictional treaty on the benefits of lands wars in Asia in the training data and then a year later Dipshit McTrumployalist lays out the new foreign policy.
